Wellspring Home Health Training Academy offers the state-required 75-hour Home Care Aide (HCA) Basic Training program, fully approved by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) under WAC 388-112A.
Our program prepares students to provide safe personal care and support services to clients in home and community settings. Graduates receive a Certificate of Completion and are eligible to apply for Washington State HCA certification through the Department of Health.

Wellspring Home Health Academy is licensed under Chapter 28C.10 RCW. The school is not currently accredited and does not offer federal financial aid.
Required before starting work. Covers care setting orientation, workplace safety practices, emergency procedures, and infection control basics.

Self-paced theory modules via DSHS-approved LMS with live identity verification for skills assessment via Microsoft Teams.
Online theory modules combined with 16 hours of in-person skills lab training at our Lakewood facility. Most popular option.

Graduates are eligible to apply for Washington State DSHS 75-Hour Home Care Aide Certification through the Department of Health.
Receive an official Wellspring Home Health Academy Certificate of Completion upon successfully finishing all 75 hours.
Receive your official DSHS Training Certificate issued directly by Wellspring as a DSHS-approved training provider.
Every graduate receives job placement assistance and referrals to local Pierce/Thurston/King County home care providers. Employment not guaranteed.

All other fees are subject to the refund policy per WAC 490-105-130.
All students must review and acknowledge these policies upon enrollment. Maintained per Chapter 28C.10 RCW and WAC 490.
Attendance is mandatory. Absences exceeding 20% of the program may result in dismissal. Missed work must be completed within 5 business days. Tardiness is recorded in 15-minute increments.
A passing score of 75% or higher is required. Students are evaluated through written exams, skills demonstration, and instructor observation. Students receive weekly progress updates and a final evaluation.
Full refund if withdrawn within 5 business days before starting. Prorated refunds based on percentage of program completed. Refunds issued within 30 days of withdrawal. The $100 Registration Fee is non-refundable.
Students must maintain professional behavior at all times. Prohibited: harassment, academic dishonesty, disruptive behavior, substance use on premises, and criminal activity. Violations may result in dismissal.
Students may be dismissed for poor attendance, failure to meet academic standards, policy violations, or non-payment of tuition.
Student records are maintained for 50 years and are available upon request. Records are kept in compliance with Washington State Training and Education Coordinating Board regulations.
